Job summary

AMETEK in Montvale, NJ is seeking a Rolling Operator to manufacture strip material from ingots, casted strip, or stock. You will operate rolling mills, set up equipment, inspect with micrometers to 0.0001 inch, and support cladding processes while maintaining safety and 6S standards.

This position requires teamwork, the ability to work weekends when needed, and basic ERP data entry. Training may be provided on the job as you learn the plant's processes.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with micrometer, digital or mechanical and measure thickness to 0.0001 inch.
• Lift up to 50 lbs by hand or with lifting equipment.
• Safety-conscious with strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
• Desire to learn new machinery and tooling; willingness to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate rolling mills to reduce strip metal to specified thickness and properties.
• Position material in rolling mill; adjust rolls and guides by size and dimensions.
• Set up processing techniques for new materials; regulate lubricant, speed, and pressure.
• Operate slitters; verify setups with gauges for quality results.
• Assist cladding operations and related equipment; cross-train as needed.
• Train on and run rolling department equipment; support other functions.
• Perform visual surface defect inspections; follow work orders.
• Cooperate with OPEX Engineering on efficiency projects; support 6S initiatives.
