Job summary

R.S. Hughes Co. is seeking a Machine Operator to safely operate packaging equipment and repackage bulk liquid materials into smaller units. You will set up, monitor fill operations, inspect finished products, and maintain accurate lot-level records in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The role emphasizes adherence to SOPs, safety procedures, and proper labeling to ensure quality control and traceability throughout the run.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required and valid driver license.
• Experience with filling/dispensing equipment preferred; training provided.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Good math skills to verify fill volumes/weights.
• Ability to operate drum lift and work around pressurized equipment.
• Detail-oriented with emphasis on labeling and lot traceability.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstation before each run and verify dispensing nozzle.
• Operate filling machines to meet target volumes, weight, and closure.
• Inspect containers for identity, lot number, and labeling.
• Maintain production logs with run details and operator data.
• Monitor fill consistency; check weight/volume at intervals.
• Prepare replacement drums to avoid air entrainment and spills.
• Clean nozzle and line, perform shutdown and cleanup after run.
• Escalate issues to maintenance as needed and follow SDS requirements.
