Job summary

Mako Industries in Sugar Land, TX is hiring a Quality Control Inspector to perform visual inspections of welds and dimensional checks on fabricated components and assemblies, ensuring work complies with drawings, specifications, approved procedures, and quality requirements.

You will read engineering drawings, verify dimensions and tolerances, record inspection results, and communicate quality issues to welders, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure final release of parts.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Good knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, and basic measurement techniques.
• Experience with inspection documentation and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
• Effective communication with welders, fabricators, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of welds for workmanship, appearance, size, location, and defects.
• Perform dimensional inspections using measuring tools.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, angles, hole locations, thickness, elevations, and fit-up against drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings including weld symbols.
• Inspect fabrication work during cutting, fitting, welding, and assembly operations.
• Verify weld fit-up, joint preparation, and overall fabrication quality.
• Record inspection results on reports and checklists; document quality issues.
• Communicate quality issues to welders, fabricators, supervisors, and management.
• Verify corrective actions and rework meet requirements before release of components or assemblies.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and tools.
• Follow company quality procedures and safety requirements.
