Job summary

DBM Global, a metal fabrication leader in Phoenix, seeks a QC Inspector to ensure weld quality and dimensional accuracy on fabrication shop projects. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections, verify against drawings, and maintain inspection records throughout production.

Responsibilities include identifying drawing discrepancies with detailers, coordinating with external inspectors, and guiding shop personnel on code compliance and specification interpretation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of related experience.
• CAWI/AWS-CWI/SCWI/CWB certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AISC and AWS codes for structural steel.
• Ability to read structural steel drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with dimensional tolerances and weld testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspection of shop fabrication, including final paint inspections, weld preparations and final welds.
• Record and maintain in-process and final inspection records for QA and production control.
• Identify and remedy drawing discrepancies with detailers.
• Coordinate with customers' inspectors during inspection phases.
• Inform foremen of defects in fabrication.
• Assist shop personnel with interpretation of codes, drawings and specifications.
