Job summary

Manufacturing Inc in Rhode Island is seeking a meticulous Quality Inspector with welding and press brake expertise to join our job shop team. You will conduct visual and dimensional inspections and document results to ensure conformance with drawings and quality standards.

You will monitor MIG, TIG, and spot welding, verify materials and consumables, identify root causes of non-conformities, and support corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a QA inspector in a job shop with welding and press brake operations.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, spot) and press brake forming.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with quality control tools; calipers and micrometers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded components and press brake-formed parts.
• Document inspection results, deviations, and non-conformances in inspection reports and quality records.
• Maintain comprehensive records of inspections and provide feedback to production for continuous improvement.
• Monitor welding processes (MIG, TIG, spot welding) for compliance with procedures and standards.
• Monitor press brake operations for proper setup and tolerances.
• Identify and address equipment performance or process deviations.
• Verify quality of raw materials and welding consumables.
• Assess material suitability for applications and report issues.
• Investigate root causes of non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Provide guidance and training on quality standards and procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives with engineering/production.
