Job summary

Valmet is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector/Warehouse Specialist to join our Supply Chain Team in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The role focuses on inspecting machined components, reading drawings, and using precision tools to verify conformance before release to inventory, production, or customers.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, documenting results, coordinating with multiple departments, and supporting the onsite warehouse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or machining apprenticeship preferred.
• 1-3 years in machining, manufacturing, warehouse or quality inspection.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Familiar with material specifications and inspection techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined components and assemblies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and material certifications.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Verify critical features including diameters, lengths, threads, taper, angles, surface finishes, and geometric tolerances.
• Perform first article inspections and document inspection results.
• Identify, document, and communicate non-conforming material and quality issues.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
• Review material certifications, inspection reports, and supporting quality documentation.
• Assist in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability of inspected products.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and inspection processes.
• Receive incoming goods, check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices.
• Pick order, pack, receive, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.
• Enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock and inventory records; retrieve stored information to respond to enquiries (for example on stock transfer, inventory levels or delivery schedules.)
• Ensure proper routing of materials is maintained while transporting the materials between departments
• Perform other routine clerical activities according to the organization’s established procedures.
