Job summary

Valmet seeks a detail-oriented Quality Inspector/Warehouse Specialist in Green Bay, WI. You will inspect machined components, read drawings, and verify quality before release to inventory, production, or customers.

The role also supports warehouse operations, stocking, picking, packing, and data entry to maintain accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate has machining experience, GD&T proficiency, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Requires High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or machining apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in machining, manufacturing, warehouse or quality inspection environment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and material certifications.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined components and assemblies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and material certifications.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges and other precision tools for dimensional inspections.
• Verify critical features including diameters, lengths, threads, taper, angles, surface finishes, and geometric tolerances.
• Perform first article inspections and document inspection results.
• Identify, document, and communicate non-conforming material and quality issues.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
• Review material certifications, inspection reports, and supporting quality documentation.
• Assist in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability of inspected products.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and inspection processes.
• Receive incoming goods, check for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices.
• Enter data into a database to maintain stock and inventory records; retrieve stored information for inquiries.
• Ensure proper routing of materials between departments; perform routine clerical tasks and update stock records.
