Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is partnering with East Lansing manufacturers to identify a skilled Quality Inspector. You will perform visual and dimensional inspections, document results, and collaborate with production to sustain quality.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in manufacturing quality inspection, are proficient with calipers, micrometers, gauges and CMMs, and understand GD&T. A high school diploma is required; ASQ CQI is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ASQ CQI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify product specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.
• Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and in-process audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Assist in the development and improvement of inspection procedures and quality documentation.
