Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in Warren, MI is seeking a Quality Inspector to operate and program coordinate measuring machines, perform dimensional inspections, and review drawings and CAD models to ensure parts meet customer criteria.

You will work with production teams, use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other tools, and apply ISO 9001/AS 9100 procedures. A high school diploma and strong accuracy are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Quality experience in aerospace or general manufacturing with knowledge of ISO 9001/AS 9100 a plus.
• Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gauges, micrometers, borescopes, and other measuring tools.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform calculations for dimensional measurements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and/or program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure precision parts.
• Perform dimensional inspections on machined parts, First Piece layout, In-process, and Final Inspection.
• Perform dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections using standard documentation and procedures.
• Perform receiving inspection on incoming products.
• Ensure that all parts being inspected meet customer criteria for an acceptable part.
• Inspect parts for nonconformance and follow the non-conforming product procedure.
• Use various measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD models to perform accurate measurements.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
