Job summary

Watteredge LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our manufacturing team in Ohio. The role focuses on final inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards, with extensive use of precision measurement tools and documentation.

The ideal candidate will have experience with AS9102, PPAP, ISO 9001, and CMM/Laser Scanners, plus strong GD&T interpretation and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience performing final inspection of precision-machined or manufactured components.
• Working knowledge of AS9102, PPAP, and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Experience using CMM and/or Laser Scanner inspection equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and interpret GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured components.
• Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) and prepare required documentation.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools.
• Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and 3D Laser Scanners to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Support PPAP activities and customer quality requirements.
• Maintain and verify the status of inspection equipment through the calibration system.
• Record inspection results and complete quality documentation accurately.
• Identify and document nonconforming products and assist with corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
• Ensure ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements and company procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
