Job summary

FM Industries, Inc. in Fremont, CA is hiring an SPC Quality Technician to perform quality control and quality assurance tasks.

You will conduct visual and dimensional inspections and collect data using SPC, GR&R, and other metrics to support First Article, Cost of Quality, and related reporting. Training occurs at the Fremont facility for about 3 months, after which the role relocates to Livermore, with candidates expected to work at both sites and uphold the company’s focus on accuracy,

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years in Quality Control or Quality Assurance related role, preferably in a manufacturing related industry
• Requires basic knowledge of GD&T
• Requires basic knowledge to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge and use of precision testing equipment and tools (caliper, micrometer, pin gage, profilometer)
• Ability to communicate clearly at various levels of the organization, with suppliers and customers.
• Teamwork orientation is essential in this role
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus (Epicor, Vantage, Oracle, SAP)

Responsibilities

• Focus on accuracy and detail to meet company quality standards
• Complete regular Quality Operation Metric Reports to management for review
• Assist with administration of corporate SPC program
• Utilize various measuring equipment to measure and collect data to determine component acceptance
• Generate Nonconformance or Discrepant Material Reports to record and control all nonconforming material
