Job summary

Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals, Inc. in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Lab/Q.C. Technician to perform a range of metal property tests and verify conformance to customer specifications.

You will conduct microscopic examinations, tensile and hardness tests, and ensure finished products meet quality standards. Qualifications include a High School Diploma with at least 3 years in wire/metals or quality, knowledge of alloy types, and familiarity with ISO 9001; AS9100D is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in wire/metals or quality industry.
• Working knowledge of stainless steel and special metals.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001; AS9100D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform microscopic examinations of metals and alloys to determine grain structure.
• Conduct tensile strength and hardness tests on samples to verify properties.
• Verify finished product conformance to customer requirements.
• Identify nonconforming products and log root-cause actions with supervisor.
• Train operators in gauging methods and quality requirements.
• Support internal supplier audits and QA procedures.
