Job summary

Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Monroe, NC to perform visual, mechanical, and CMM inspections on manufactured components.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, interpreting GD&T, and maintaining calibration and inspection records to ensure product conformity and compliance with AS9100 guidelines. You will set up inspection equipment, run CMM programs, document results, and support PPAP/FAI as needed while contributing to continual improvement

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or university degree in related field; or 4 years of relevant experience in absence of degree.
• Demonstrated experience operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
• Experience performing dimensional or mechanical inspection using precision measurement instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
• Ability to document inspection results and maintain traceable records.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of manufactured components per drawings and procedures.
• Operate CMMs to verify dimensional characteristics and product conformity.
• Set up inspection equipment, run existing CMM programs, and evaluate results against acceptance criteria.
• Interpret GD&T and inspection requirements from drawings.
• Record and maintain traceable inspection data within MES/QMS systems.
• Identify and communicate nonconformances for review and corrective actions.
• Support containment, investigations, and corrective actions for nonconforming products.
• Manage calibration activities for inspection equipment and track due dates.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on inspection equipment.
