Job summary

Thyssenkrupp Materials NA, Inc. is seeking a Punch Press Operator to set up, operate, and maintain Vaski punch press equipment in a busy manufacturing environment. You will review orders, verify material specs, and perform quality checks to ensure customer requirements are met.

You will also handle material movement with forklifts and cranes, contribute to production reporting, and assist in preventive maintenance. A strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and setup instructions.
• Experience using measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers).
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor Vaski punch press equipment safely and efficiently.
• Review work orders and setup instructions to verify material and processing requirements.
• Perform quality inspections and record results per procedures.
• Verify material and product dimensions meet customer specs and standards.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment as required.
• Load, unload, move, and stage material throughout the production process.
• Complete production reporting, inventory transactions, and productivity logs accurately.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and housekeeping for a safe environment.
• Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming material and scrap.
• Collaborate with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members to resolve production issues.
• Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and quality initiatives.
• Train and assist other operators as required.
