Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Production Technician in Ohio to support fabrication operations by safely operating equipment, processing materials, and inspecting parts for quality. You will help maintain production flow, document performance, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires basic reading of blueprints, numerical skills, and familiarity with CNC controls. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, production, or industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production documents.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with CNC machine controls.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment, machinery, tools, and materials in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
• Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and quantity prior to processing.
• Perform machine setup adjustments including torch height, consumables, gas settings, and cutting parameters.
• Monitor production processes to ensure dimensional accuracy, edge quality, and efficient material utilization.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure specifications are met.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to maintain quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor machine issues and coordinate maintenance support when necessary.
• Maintain accurate production records, material traceability documentation, and machine performance logs.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Assist with other fabrication, manufacturing, or production tasks as assigned.
