Job summary

MiTek Industries in Edenton, NC is seeking a focused press operator to operate stamping presses and packaging lines, ensure safety and quality, and complete accurate production reporting. You will read prints, set up feeds, perform first piece inspections, and document production data as part of daily duties.

The role requires HS diploma or GED, up to 1 year of related experience, basic math, and ability to use hand tools and tape measure.

Qualifications

• High School/GED preferred.
• Up to 1 year related experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume).
• Ability to read and understand prints and schematics.
• Ability to use small hand-power tools and read a tape measure (1/32-inch increments).
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate a stamping press and auxiliary equipment with manual and automated packaging processes.
• Meet and/or exceed daily production goals.
• Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors.
• Assist mechanics whenever required to keep press/packaging equipment operational.
• Correctly feed slit ribbon material into the stamping dies and perform first piece inspection.
• Manually pack metal connectors and/or steel components into packaging containers.
• Strive to keep product waste to a minimum; inspect finished products and mark steel lot numbers on shipping containers.
• Monitor production equipment coolant and oil levels and adjust accordingly.
• Ongoing inspection of products being produced to our internal quality standards.
• Complete quality and production paperwork in its entirety throughout assigned shift.
