Job summary

MiTek Industries, Inc. is seeking a hands-on shop floor operator to demonstrate proficiency with automatic equipment, forklifts and overhead cranes. The role involves setting up stamping dies, performing tooling changes, and maintaining equipment to keep production on schedule.

You will monitor presses and tooling, perform basic troubleshooting, and support preventive maintenance. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and may include overtime as part of the shift schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Effective communication with coworkers and management regarding work and safety issues.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and safety rules.
• Some PC skills helpful but not required.
• Read a tape measure.
• Previous forklift experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set up machinery for manufacturing.
• Set up stamping dies in presses.
• Perform tooling changes according to schedules.
• Troubleshoot and repair tools to keep production on schedule.
• Perform required preventative maintenance.
• Monitor press, tooling and secondary systems for proper operation.
• Attend the regularly scheduled shift and be prepared to work overtime as required.
