Qualifications

• Read a tape measure and perform simple math.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn precision work.
• Understanding of tools or mechanical processes is helpful.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for most of the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and steady, methodical work style.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and lock punches, dies, cutting blades or fixtures in presses using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
• Operate and position workpieces on machine beds or dies to saw, cut, shear, bend, or straighten metal.
• Adjust machine speeds, forces, and back gauges per specifications; use gauges and CNC controls to make adjustments.
• Measure finished parts using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers to verify conformance.
• Inspect for defects and sort defective pieces; start machines and record data.
• Read work orders, prints to determine materials, bend lines, orientation, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Maintain steady workflow to achieve on-time delivery.
