Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Paint & Coatings Technician to join the Construction Projects and Facilities team in McGregor, Texas. You will mix, strip, paint, and detail advanced coating systems, prepare substrates, apply sealants, maintain spraying equipment, and use precision tools to support safety, quality, and delivery improvements.

You will own tasks from start to finish, driving improvements in a fast-paced environment and helping SpaceX maintain a world-class test facility to enable life beyond

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalency and 1+ years painting experience in a residential, commercial, industrial, or manufacturing setting.
• Preferred: 5+ years as a painter in varied environments and familiarity with paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, epoxies and related materials.
• Ability to safely operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and heavy equipment.
• Must meet site safety codes and wear breathing air respirators when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate paint-related ticket requests to ensure timely, quality work.
• Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch, and paint steel surfaces and fixtures with various finishes.
• Tape, float, and repair wall finishes and apply textures.
• Operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment (brushes, rollers, sprayers, etc.).
• Safely store and label all materials daily and maintain a clean worksite.
• Set up scaffolding, rigging, and ladders per safety codes.
• Apply finishes to diverse surfaces.
