Job summary

SpaceX in Texas is seeking a Paint & Coatings Technician to join the construction projects and facilities team. The role mixes, strips, paints, and details advanced paint systems, prepares metallic substrates via abrasion and etchants, applies sealants, maintains spraying equipment, and uses precision tools to support safety, quality, and delivery improvements.

You will own tasks and projects from start to finish, driving positive changes in a fast-paced, low-drag environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ years painting experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
Experience painting indoors and outdoors.
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate ticket system requests for paint projects across the site to ensure timely and quality execution of work
Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch, and paint steel surfaces, buildings, and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, waterproofing, and heat-resistant finishes
Tape, float, paint, and repair wall finishes and apply texture
Operate, clean, and maintain all painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, electrostatic sprayers, and pumps
Safely store and label all materials on a daily basis
Erect scaffolding, rigging, and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes
Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safelyApply finishes to a wide variety of surfaces
