Job summary

Panavision in Los Angeles seeks a skilled operator to support its precision optical production. You will machine lens components, assemble lenses to Panavision specifications, and help ensure quality according to blueprints.

Design and fabricate tooling fixtures, modify existing components, and collaborate with the Optical department to troubleshoot. The role requires independence, strong attention to tolerances, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of optical manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of optical testing and measurement equipment.
  • Extensive experience operating manufacturing machinery and related tools.

  • Understanding of safety protocols related to machinery operation.

  • Ability to interpret complex mechanical and optical drawings.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing daily work requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and produce lenses in a timely manner.

Job Scope:
Operate standard tooling machinery and assemble precision optical lenses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Machine lens components according to engineering blueprints.
  • Assemble lenses in compliance with Panavision specifications and quality standards.
  • Design and fabricate tooling fixtures required for lens manufacturing.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position operates within a professional office environment. The physical requirements outlined below represent those necessary to perform the essential functions of the role. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Prompt and regular attendance is required. Employees are expected to begin work at the start of their scheduled shift and to complete their assigned duties throughout the full workday. This position follows standard business hours but may require extended hours and occasional weekend work.
