Job summary

Panavision seeks a skilled machinist to operate standard tooling machinery and assemble precision optical lenses. You will machine lens components, assemble lenses to Panavision specifications, and design tooling fixtures to support manufacturing.

The role requires strong knowledge of optical production, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work with tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and independent work habits are essential.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of optical manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of optical testing and measurement equipment.
• Extensive experience operating manufacturing machinery and related tools.
• Familiarity with materials used in lens production.
• Understanding of safety protocols related to machinery operation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret complex mechanical and optical drawings.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing daily work requirements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain tight tolerances.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and produce lenses in a timely manner.

Job Scope:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Prompt and regular attendance is required. Employees are expected to begin work at the start of their scheduled shift and to complete their assigned duties throughout the full workday. This position follows standard business hours but may require extended hours and occasional weekend work.
