Job summary

Gooch and Housego seeks an assembler for a precision optics manufacturing environment in the United States (NH Keene). You will assemble, align, test and configure small form factor optical, electronic and mechanical components in a clean room.

You will follow released procedures and assembly drawings, record traceability data, and assist in improving processes for next generation products, within a team and under deadlines.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of assembler experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.
• Self-starter with willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments is a plus.
• 3–5 years working with optical assemblies is a plus.
• The ability to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assembly of optical systems to the required tolerances.
• Record necessary information for traceability of assembly procedures.
• Record touch time on work orders.
• Inspect optical and mechanical components for conformance to prints.
• Assist in optimizing optical components and mechanics to achieve desired results.
• Assist with improving the assembly process and identifying design improvements.
• Assist with troubleshooting, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Assist with laser marking, cutting, and welding as needed.
