Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Richmond, IN is seeking a Precision MIG Welding Technician to read drawings, set up for MIG welds, and produce exact, documented results. You will lay out parts, tack and weld to spec, and adjust voltage and gas flow for precise arc characteristics.

In a manufacturing setting, you will perform routine maintenance, use micrometers/calipers for inspection, and ensure logs reflect throughput and quality. Must wear PPE and maintain a quality-first mindset throughout shifts.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of MIG welding experience or equivalent training.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret weld symbols.
  • Experience with varied welding equipment and procedures.
  • Comfort with shop tools and PPE usage per safety standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Read drawings and follow weld symbols, sequences, and notes without supervision.
  • Lay out parts, fixture, tack, and complete welds to spec.
  • Set and tune voltage, amperage, and gas flow for arc characteristics.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Measure and inspect with micrometers, calipers, gauges.
  • Document results in production logs and quality records.

Metal structures and assemblies that meet exact customer and internal specificationsHigh-quality welds (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead) produced with MIG and related processesAccurate, documented results captured in production and quality logs.

How you’ll make it happen

Read drawings and follow weld symbols, sequences, and assembly notes without supervision.Lay out parts, secure with fixtures, tack, and complete welds to spec.Set and fine-tune voltage, amperage, and gas flow to achieve desired arc characteristics.Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting; request repairs when needed.Measure and inspect using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools.Demonstrate strong attendance: be on time, follow your schedule, and remain on task.Embrace a quality-first mindset and wear required PPE at all times.Accept accountability for throughput and workmanship, always striving for excellence.

What’s the work setting like?

Manufacturing environment with loud noise, fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. You may work with chemicals; see the posted Safety Data Sheets for details. Expect moderate temperature changes during an eight-hour shift.
