Job summary

Nidec Corporation in the United States (First Shift) seeks a Welder Assembler to join our generator production team. You will assemble and weld shells, rings, and feet for generators, set up welders, and inspect material quality to prevent rework.

You must read complicated drawings and blueprints, use precise measuring devices, and perform TPM checks daily. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and safety practices are a must in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read complex drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to use precise measuring devices.
• Willingness to set up welders and adjust speeds/feeds.
• Commitment to TPM and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and welds shells, rings, and feet for generators
• Places stator core on mandrel, assembles shell and rings
• Guages height and then tacks weld together
• Assembles and welds feet to frame and core assembly
• Corrects settings on welders including speeds and feeds as well as proper setup of product to be welded
• Inspects quality of material being welded to prevent rework
• Includes MIG welding
• Protects other employees from arc flash
• Wears welding hood, gloves, and other protection
• Exercises good housekeeping in work area
• Observes good safety practices in performance of job
• Performs daily/weekly TPM tasks and completes checksheets
• Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader
