Job summary

Colonial Group in Michigan is seeking a skilled welder to assemble mechanical structures with precision and to repair components that do not meet spec.

You will operate shielded metal arc, MIG, and TIG welding equipment, read blueprints, and work with aluminum, steel, and Invar. The role requires 1-3 years of MIG/TIG experience and an associate or technical certificate. This position may require a government security clearance; US citizen preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates or Technical School preferred.
• 1–3 years of MIG & TIG welding experience.
• Welding Certificates required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools used in welding.
• Operate forklift, cranes, hoists, slings, grinders, and measuring instruments.
• Select torches, tips, filler rods, and flux per welding specs.
• Fill, cut, contour, and bevel metal according to blueprints and templates.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, and reassembling parts.
• TIG & MIG weld components using Aluminum, Steel, and Invar.
