Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a skilled welder to assemble mechanical structures with high precision, forming the foundation for strong infrastructure. The role includes repairing non-conforming products and maintaining quality through welding and fabrication processes.

The candidate will read blueprints, operate SMAW and GMAW equipment, and participate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Night shifts with a $2/hr premium apply, and associates or technical training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates or technical/vocational training preferred.
• 1–3 years experience with MIG & TIG welding and fabrication processes.
• Welding Certificates or equivalent credentials.

Responsibilities

• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to welding, e.g., SMAW and GMAW equipment.
• Operate forklift, cranes, hoists, slings, grinders, cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, and measurement instruments.
• Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux per welding chart specs or metal type.
• Cut, contour, and bevel metal plates and structural shapes per blueprints and work orders.
• Grind off excess welds, slag, or splatter using scrapers and grinders.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Perform TIG and MIG welding on Aluminum, Steel, and Invar components.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
