Job summary

HBK - Hottinger Brüel & Kjær in Marlborough, MA seeks a Production Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing output. This role supports daily manufacturing activities, troubleshoots basic equipment issues, and ensures compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1–3 years in manufacturing, knowledge of soldering and cable/harness assembly, ability to read work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years in manufacturing, production, or technical environment.
• Knowledge of cable and harness assembly methods, including crimping and soldering.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools.
• Experience working under a microscope for assembly.
• Micro-assembly operations experience.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, and safety documents.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent time management and organization skills.
• Ability to follow, read, and write written procedures in English.
• Lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must work on-site 5 days a week at Marlborough location.

Responsibilities

• Point to point soldering and wiring.
• Assemble/test parts using blueprints and schematics.
• Test functionality of soldered sensors.
• Assemble prototypes with project engineer.
• Follow documented procedures for fitting, adjusting, and functioning of parts.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production goals.
• Follow safety policies and use of PPE; observe lockout/tagout procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S principles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
