Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is actively seeking a Metrology Technician for a Newaygo, MI opportunity. This role focuses on precision calibration, maintenance of metrology equipment, and supporting manufacturing quality programs.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in dimensional inspection/calibration, experience with CMMs and PC‑DMIS, and a solid grasp of GD&T. The position emphasizes accuracy, data integrity, and coaching others in measurement best practices.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing dimensional inspection and calibration.
Proficient in the use of various metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
Strong understanding of GD&T principles and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Experience with calibration software and metrology-specific programming (e.g., PC-DMIS) is a plus.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including trigonometry and statistics.

Responsibilities

Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on metrology equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Develop and implement calibration procedures in accordance with industry standards.
Maintain detailed records of calibration data and equipment maintenance history.
Conduct Gage R&R studies and other measurement system analysis.
Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel on proper use of measuring tools.
