Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is seeking a Metrology Technician in Montague, MI to perform precision measurements and support quality by reading drawings, applying GD&T, and calibrating tools. This role collaborates with engineers to optimize measurement processes and ensure data integrity for high-precision manufacturing.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate’s degree in Metrology or related field, 3+ years in manufacturing metrology, and hands-on experience with CMMs, PC-DMIS, and Calypso.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing metrology role.
• Proficient with metrology equipment (CMMs, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with metrology software (PC-DMIS, Calypso).

Responsibilities

• Perform precision measurements using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and other metrology equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain measurement tools and equipment according to established procedures.
• Analyze measurement data and create detailed reports, identifying trends and potential issues.
• Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and recommend corrective actions to improve accuracy.
• Assist engineers in developing and optimizing measurement processes and fixtures.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
• Conduct Gage R&R studies and maintain measurement system analysis documentation.
