Job summary

StenTech in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a hands-on Quality Inspector to perform receipt, in-process, first article (FAI), final, and shipping inspections ensuring parts meet drawings and specs. You will review orders, document accurately, and promptly report defects.

Qualifications

• Background in quality control/inspection or manufacturing (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools and CMMs.
• Fluency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, customer specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Knowledge of CNC machining or experience inspecting machined parts (preferred).
• Experience with FAIs and AS9102 (preferred).
• Ability to create or modify CMM programs (highly preferred).
• Proficient data entry and electronic recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Conduct receipt, in-process, first article (FAI), final, and shipping inspections to verify conformance to drawings, specs, and quality standards.
• Review work orders and inspection packets; finalize documentation for accuracy and approval.
• Spot, record, and communicate defects, discrepancies, and nonconformances clearly and promptly.
• Use metrology tools—calipers, micrometers, height and pin gauges, optical comparators, and CMM—to validate dimensions and features.
• Complete FAIs with AS9102 documentation and keep meticulous electronic records.
• Interpret customer blueprints, engineering drawings, and inspection criteria to plan and execute checks.
• Perform visual inspections for damage, workmanship, and dimensional issues while handling precision components with care.
• Monitor product quality throughout production and recommend improvements to processes when appropriate.
• Pitch in with assembly or other production tasks when needed to help the team hit goals.
• Keep a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
