Job summary

Howmet Aerospace LaPorte is seeking a Metal Cleaner to condition rough castings to customer specifications through cleaning, finishing, and inspection. You will interpret PC and AI, set up initial booths, and ensure 5S discipline in the department.

Duties include sandblasting, grinding, measuring with calipers and gauges, providing data input, and collaborating with engineering on deviations. Must be able to work overtime and maintain high quality, safety, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass WORKKEYS tests with Level 4+.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
• Export-controlled data access may apply.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train to perform metal cleaning, finishing, and inspection.
• Sandblast and polish castings to meet PC specifications.
• Operate hand grinding tools and metal cleaning equipment.
• Perform 5S auditing and maintain shop cleanliness.
• Input data in computer; communicate with engineering as needed.
