Job summary

Chapin International in Batavia, NY is seeking a Mechanical Testing Lab Technician to join the team. The role focuses on preparing samples, conducting environmental and functional tests, and recording data to support manufacturing processes and product compliance.

You will collaborate with quality control, production, and engineering to troubleshoot issues, maintain test equipment, and ensure calibration. A Bachelor’s degree and manufacturing testing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent in engineering or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially product testing or quality control.
• Ability to use tools common to mechanical and manufacturing trades.
• Ability to work under time constraints and with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and functional tests for new products and support engineering and manufacturing.
• Prepare test procedures, setup, data sheets, and test reports.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized lab environment.
• Document test setups and results to support manufacturing decisions.
