Job summary

North American Stainless Ghent, KY seeks a Mechanical Lab Technician to oversee all phases of mechanical testing and support lab operations under supervision. You will prepare samples, calibrate equipment, log results in the AS400, and train teammates as needed.

Responsibilities include sample prep, calibration, data entry, metallography tasks, and documenting procedures while ensuring safety and compliance in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail strongly preferred.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation of mechanical and chemistry samples.
• Maintain calibration and daily testing equipment.
• Enter test results into the AS400 and maintain hard copy records.
• Prepare metallography samples, including grinding and polishing.
• Conduct grain, corrosion and bend testing with result evaluation.
• Train other technicians for back-up purposes.
• Document procedures and results and store correctly.
• Utilize the sample archive and logging system.
• Perform special work order testing for QC and other departments.
• Support day-to-day laboratory operations as directed by supervisors.
