Job summary

JOA is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to produce and assemble machine parts according to specifications. You will read blueprints, measure parts, and operate cranes and material handling equipment in a fast-paced factory setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic math, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. CAD navigation and travel readiness are a plus; safety gear is required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• Requires mathematical skills for basic arithmetic and metric conversions.
• Must read and understand blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Must know hand tools and machine tools (drill press, band saw, cut-off saw, grinder).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to collaborate with others to proactively develop solutions.
• Good organizational skills.
• CAD document navigation preferred.
• Material handling equipment operation preferred.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and pneumatics a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally and domestically is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows blueprints, shop orders, specifications to build and assemble parts accurately.
• Measures parts with scales, micrometers, and calipers.
• Uses overhead crane and rigging procedures.
• Operates material handling equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Prepares parts for painting and supports department clean-up and improvement projects.
