Job summary

JOA is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for second shift, producing and assembling machine parts per specifications. You will read blueprints, measure with precision instruments, and operate overhead cranes to move components.

The role requires basic math, reading comprehension of manufacturing instructions, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a factory setting. Second shift offers a premium and benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Basic math including metric conversions.
• Ability to use hand tools and machine tools safely.
• Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Some CAD navigation and material handling knowledge preferred.
• Travel to domestic and international locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows entry-level blueprints, shop orders, specifications to assemble parts.
• Measures parts accurately using scales, micrometers, and calipers.
• Operates overhead crane and follows rigging procedures.
• Operates material handling equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Prepares parts for painting; participates in department clean-up and improvement projects.
