Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking laboratory technicians to convert field samples into numbers using Proctor curves, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, moisture contents, and strength tests. You will operate within an AASHTO R18 quality system with calibrated equipment and accountability for every result.

Pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour with overtime during busy seasons. This is a facility-based, on-site role serving the Akron region, with some occasional field sampling support when

Qualifications

• Must have careful hands and clean documentation habits.
• Prior lab or CMT experience a plus, not required — training provided.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing.
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day.
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments.
