Job summary

Construction Material Testing laboratory is seeking a dedicated technician to convert field samples into precise test results within an AASHTO R18 quality system. You will perform standardized tests, log data, and ensure rigorous calibration and chain-of-custody practices.

Pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour with regular daytime hours and overtime during busy seasons. Occasional field sampling support may be required to serve the region.

Qualifications

• Careful hands, clean documentation habits, mechanical aptitude.
• Prior lab or CMT experience a plus, not required — we train.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work done right every time.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments
