Hirsh Industries, LLC is seeking a dependable machinist to join our manufacturing team. The role involves setting up and operating manual lathes and milling machines to manufacture, repair, and modify parts per drawings and tolerances.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, measure with micrometers and calipers, and maintain tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment. Must lift up to 50 lbs and work well independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines.
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment.
• Manufacture and repair parts according to drawings, prints, sketches, or existing components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Perform accurate measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
• Determine appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
• Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining and product defects.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machine shop equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company and federal safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
• Work with maintenance, engineering, production, and other departments as needed.
• Assist with repair, fabrication, and modification projects throughout the facility.
• Coordinate materials, parts & repairs with commercial vendors for toolroom operations
