Hirsh Industries is seeking a dependable machinist to join our manufacturing team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will set up and operate machine tools to manufacture, repair, and modify parts per drawings and tolerances. Experience with manual machining equipment and accurate inspection is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines.
• Able to read and understand blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work independently.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment.
• Manufacture and repair parts according to drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Perform accurate measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Maintain tolerances and surface finishes; determine tooling, speeds, feeds, and methods.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with specs; troubleshoot defects.
