Responsibilities

• Perform complex setups and operations on large vertical and horizontal lathes to restore industrial pump components.
• Interpret intricate blueprints and technical drawings to achieve tolerances as tight as .0005”.
• Select optimal cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to ensure superior surface finishes and dimensional accuracy.
• Execute safe rigging and lifting of heavy components using overhead cranes to facilitate efficient repair workflows.
• Operate forklifts safely within the machine shop to manage material flow and equipment staging.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, vernier calipers, and dial indicators to ensure quality compliance.
• Collaborate with the team to disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble large-scale mechanical systems.
• Adhere to rigorous safety protocols and quality management system standards in all daily tasks.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• 3+ years of professional experience as a machinist or machine operator.
• Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting complex mechanical blueprints.
• 1+ year of hands-on experience operating king-style boring mills or vertical turret lathes (VTL).
