Job summary

Alan-Baird-Industries in Allendale, NJ seeks a skilled Machinist to set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts and to fabricate or modify components as needed, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.

You will work with engineering to develop machining processes, maintain equipment, and ensure quality. Pay ranges from $30.00 to $33.00 per hour, with benefits after probation and opportunities for growth in a busy shop.

Qualifications

• Self-motivation and problem-solving in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle numbers and multiple tasks.
• Understanding of milling machines, lathes, grinders and tooling.
• Ability to use measurement equipment and hold tolerances.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• English language proficiency (read, write, speak).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical School or Apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs machinist duties to maintain and fabricate machinery.
• Assists with tasks in the machine shop and production areas as needed.
• Follows drawings or supervisor instructions for machining work.
• Maintains order and cleanliness in the machine shop.
