Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Machinist / Machine Operator in Tennessee to set up, maintain, and operate a variety of production machinery. The role focuses on ensuring production goals are met while maintaining high quality and tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates have experience with high-speed machinery, precision measurement tools, and reading blueprints. This position may involve standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Reading technical drawings and part specifications.
• Working knowledge of high-speed machinery and precision measurement tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and operate machinery to meet production goals.
• Monitor machining quality with process control tools.
• Read and interpret part prints and job orders including dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform first-piece sample inspections following operation control plans.
• Continuously monitor part dimensions using measuring devices and SPC tools.
• Stand or sit for prolonged periods (up to 8+ hours per day).
• Lift and move materials weighing between 10–50 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
