Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America in International Falls, MN is seeking a Machinist to support a white paper mill operation. The role focuses on manufacturing components and troubleshooting using both manual and CNC equipment.

You will read blueprints, operate lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and perform pump repairs, welding, rigging, alignment, and crane/lift operations while following safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a 2-year technical program plus experience as a maintenance machinist or equivalent training and experience.
• Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Must be able to sit, stoop, and bend.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have a valid current driver’s license.
• Experience in a paper or other manufacturing environment.
• Machinist training and certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support a paper manufacturing operation to increase productivity and reduce downtime and waste.
• Create, interpret, and read prints for fabrication of components.
• Use precision measuring equipment for fabrication and machining of components.
• Operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, radial drill press, band saws, threading equipment, grinding equipment.
• Perform pump repair, arc welding, proper rigging, alignment.
• Use mobile cranes, lifts, and hoists.
• Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
