Responsibilities

• Set up and operate single- or multi-spindle lathe-type machines with automatic indexing.
• Manage feeding mechanisms to machine metal stock per specs.
• Interpret blueprints and job orders for product specs, tolerances, quantities, and tooling.
• Position and secure collets, bushings, and stock pushers on feeding mechanisms.
• Load bar stock into feeding mechanisms manually or with hoists.
• Install and adjust cams, gears, stops, and tool holders to control movement.
• Verify tool positions with gauges and set speeds and feeds for precision.
• Cycle through settings and adjust to ensure timing, clearance, and chip removal.
