Job summary

Curtiss-Wright EMS - SAS in Summerville, SC is seeking a Machinist Inspector to inspect materials, parts, and products for dimension, strength and quality. You will perform in-process and final inspections and prepare official inspection reports for government submissions.

Must be a US citizen with DoD clearance eligibility, possess a high school diploma, and ideally a four-year machinist apprenticeship. Strong reading of blueprints and GD&T is required.

Qualifications

• US citizen per DoD requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four-year machinist apprenticeship or equivalent is an asset.
• Proficiency with standard dimensional measurement equipment (analog micrometers, gauges, calipers, CMM).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Maintain tight tolerances within .001/.0001 inch with high accuracy analog gauging.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machined parts with precision tools to ensure tight tolerances.
• Perform in-process inspections to catch nonconformances early.
• Prepare inspection reports for government submissions.
• Conduct material receipt and shipping inspections.
• Mentor junior inspectors to grow team capability.
• Ensure safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team to maximize productivity.
