Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a Machinist I to set up and operate CNC machining centers including horizontal and vertical mills, turning centers, and related equipment. You will read blueprints, GD&T, and load programs to meet tight tolerances, adjusting offsets as needed.

You will verify part quality with micrometers and calipers, document results, and contribute to TPM, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives. Entry-level training or formal schooling is acceptable; safety and precision are essential.

Qualifications

• Entry-level machining experience or formal training preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T and interpret tolerances.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machining centers and related equipment.
