Job summary

The Machinist at KBR will set up and operate machine tools to fabricate, modify, or repair components used in TACOM-supported systems, producing precision parts to tight tolerances and supporting maintenance and overhaul activities.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using precision gauges, and overseeing lower-grade workers. The position is contingent upon award and involves standing and lifting in a physical shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
• 5 years machining experience or certified equivalence.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machining equipment for engine parts.
• Machine engine components such as crankshafts, camshafts, and housings to spec.
• Determine repairability and perform precision gauging and testing.
• Oversee lower grade workers and instruct on assembly tasks.
• Maintain dimensional tolerances per specifications and procedures.
