Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking skilled Machinists in Lancaster, PA for contract roles with potential for hire. Onsite work model includes 1st shift (Mon–Fri 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), Weekend shift (Fri–Sun 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.), and 2nd shift (Mon–Thu 3 p.m.–1:30 a.m.).

Responsibilities include setting up, operating, and monitoring precision machining equipment (grinding, slicing, drilling, milling, CNC). Maintain tight tolerances, inspect parts, and collaborate with Quality and Engineering.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Machinist I: typically 1+ years machining experience.
• Machinist II: typically 2+ years machining with tighter tolerances.
• CNC operation experience preferred; G-code/M-code programming for Machinist II.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and quality documentation.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor precision machining equipment including grinding, slicing, drilling, milling, and CNC-based operations.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish to tight tolerances (as specified).
• Perform machine adjustments, tool changes, and basic program edits as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, quality, and process issues; assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure specifications are met.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve production or quality concerns.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying efficiency, quality, and safety opportunities.
• Assist with preventive and autonomous maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Train and mentor Operators and entry-level Machinists as appropriate.
