Job summary

psasystems is seeking a machinist/operator to read shop prints and work from detailed drawings and process sheets. You will set up fixtures, load and unload parts, inspect parts online, and input data to ensure specified finishes and tolerances are met.

The role requires knowledge of NC controlled machines, the ability to perform deburr work, and routine maintenance of tooling, with emphasis on safety and quality in a production setting.

Qualifications

• Read shop prints, mathematics, handbook formulas, precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of NC controlled machines and shop practices equivalent to 1–2 years trades training.
• Judgment to plan, perform and decide within quality/tolerance bounds.
• Ability to lift light to average weight materials and work continuously.

Responsibilities

• Use tool preset machine, precision measuring instruments, deburr tools and hand tools.
• Work from drawings, process sheets, specs or visual displays.
• Perform fixture change-overs, load/unload parts, inspect on-line, input data.
• Maintain tooling and backups; monitor control messages and take corrective action.
• Perform housekeeping and deburr internally; complete PM check lists.
